E-cigarettes Aid Smoking Cessation Without Specialist Support, Study Shows

The study of 1,170 participants found 11.3% of those given e-cigarettes alone quit for six months, compared to 6.4% receiving automated NHS messages. While adding telephone support nearly doubled quit rates, the findings suggest e-cigarettes offer a standalone benefit for cessation.
