FDA Approves Generic Valganciclovir Oral Solution by Alembic Pharmaceuticals

Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited has received final approval from the U.S. FDA for its 50 mg/mL valganciclovir oral solution, a generic equivalent to Valcyte. This approval provides a new, more accessible treatment option for patients with CMV retinitis associated with AIDS and for preventing CMV complications in organ transplant recipients.
