US military intercepts Iranian-flagged oil tanker in Gulf of Oman, says US Central Command
The US military intercepted and disabled an Iranian-flagged oil tanker, M/T Hasna, in the Gulf of Oman after it allegedly attempted to breach a US-enforced maritime blockade and head toward an Iranian port. US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that American forces issued multiple warnings, which the crew failed to heed. A US Navy F/A-18 fighter jet then fired 20-millimeter rounds at the vessel, targeting and disabling its rudder to prevent its transit to Iran.
