Russia launches massive overnight missile and drone barrage on Ukraine, killing 11 and damaging historic Kyiv cathedral

Russia conducted one of its heaviest aerial assaults in months, targeting Kyiv and Kharkiv with hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles, resulting in at least 11 civilian deaths and damage to the UNESCO-listed Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery. Ukraine's air force reported intercepting 632 aerial targets, including 50 missiles and 582 drones. Russia's Defense Ministry, however, claimed the cathedral was hit by a malfunctioning Ukrainian Patriot missile.
