Russia launches massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv, killing at least 25 and injuring over 90

Russia conducted one of its largest aerial assaults on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and other cities overnight, deploying over 70 missiles and approximately 500 drones. Ukrainian officials reported significant damage to residential buildings, a hotel, a research institute, and an ambulance station. The Russian Defense Ministry stated the strikes were in retaliation for Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil infrastructure, and published a list of targeted military-industrial and energy facilities. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 524 out of 570 aerial targets, but 25 ballistic missiles and 12 attack drones reached their targets. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy cut short a diplomatic visit to Ireland due to intelligence of the imminent attack.
