U.S. military completes new wave of strikes on Iranian military targets, vows to keep Strait of Hormuz open
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the completion of a new wave of offensive strikes against dozens of military targets across Iran, conducted on July 12. The targets included Iranian air defense systems, coastal radar installations, missile and drone facilities, and small naval craft. The operation, which for the first time involved unmanned surface vessels, aimed to reduce Tehran's ability to attack international commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, which CENTCOM reaffirmed remains open to commercial traffic.
