Jordanian military intercepts Iranian missiles and drones over its airspace

Jordan's military announced on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, that its air defense systems detected and intercepted six missiles launched from Iranian territory, destroying four and allowing two to fall in uninhabited areas without casualties. Additionally, Jordanian aircraft intercepted and shot down four drones launched from Iran towards the kingdom on Wednesday morning. Explosions were heard in the southern city of Aqaba.
