CENTCOM forces destroy Houthi drones, surface vessel, and ballistic missile in Red Sea and Gulf of Aden
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on August 5, 2026, that its forces successfully destroyed three Iranian-backed Houthi uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) over the Gulf of Aden, one Houthi UAS in Yemen, and one Houthi uncrewed surface vessel (USV), one Houthi uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV), and one Houthi anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) in the Red Sea within the past 24 hours. CENTCOM stated these weapons posed a clear and imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces and merchant vessels.
