Russia's Defense Ministry stated that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 605 Ukrainian aerial drones over its territory and annexed Crimea overnight on August 6, with damage reported in the Tver and Yaroslavl regions. Concurrently, Ukraine's Air Force reported that Russian forces attacked Ukraine with four missiles (two Oniks anti-ship, two Kh-31P anti-radar) and 101 drones (Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, Parodia types) during the night of August 5-6. Ukrainian air defenses shot down or jammed 66 drones, but 29 attack drones and one Oniks missile hit 18 locations. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy also claimed strikes on Russian oil facilities and Black Sea vessels.
