CENTCOM redirects 48 commercial vessels, reports destruction of 17 Iranian naval vessels amid blockade

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Wednesday, August 5, that it continues naval blockade operations against Iran, having redirected 48 commercial vessels. CENTCOM also stated that 17 Iranian naval vessels have been destroyed since the start of a joint military campaign with Israel, effectively neutralizing the Iranian Navy in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Gulf of Oman.
