US CENTCOM destroys Houthi Unmanned Surface Vessel in Red Sea

U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) announced on August 16, 2026, that its forces successfully destroyed one Iranian-backed Houthi Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) in the Red Sea within the past 24 hours. CENTCOM determined the USV posed a clear and imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces, and merchant vessels.
