Russian missile and drone attacks kill one in Ukraine, wound seven; Ukraine targets Moscow region with 600 drones, killing three in Rostov

Russian forces launched missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, including Kryvyi Rih and Kyiv, on Sunday, August 16, killing one person and wounding at least seven. Separately, Ukrainian forces conducted a large-scale drone attack on the Moscow region and Russia's southern Rostov region overnight into August 16, with Moscow reporting 600 drones targeting the region and three people killed in Rostov. Ukraine also claimed long-range strikes on Russian military and industrial sites in Samara.
