US CENTCOM declares Strait of Hormuz shipping lanes cleared of Iranian mines; Iran sets conditions for reopening

US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that US forces have successfully cleared Iranian sea mines from internationally recognized shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz, making the critical waterway freely transitable. CENTCOM also stated that approximately 50,000 US troops are maintaining a blockade on Iran, preventing oil shipments since mid-July. Concurrently, Iran's top security official, Mohsen Rezaei, stated that Tehran is preparing a list of conditions for fully reopening the Strait, including an end to the regional war and the lifting of US sanctions.
