US CENTCOM Announces Clearance of Iranian Sea Mines in Strait of Hormuz, Maintains Blockade
US Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Adm. Brad Cooper stated that US forces have successfully cleared Iranian sea mines from internationally recognized shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz, allowing free transit. He also confirmed that approximately 50,000 US troops are enforcing a blockade on Iran, preventing oil shipments since mid-July, turning back 75 vessels and disabling three.
