North Korea conducts ninth ballistic missile launch of 2026 into Sea of Japan

North Korea launched a ballistic missile from its east coast toward the Sea of Japan on Wednesday morning, marking its ninth such launch this year. The missile traveled approximately 690 kilometers and reached a maximum altitude of about 90 kilometers before falling outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.
