US military redirects 96 commercial vessels as part of naval blockade against Iran
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the U.S. military has forced 96 commercial vessels to change course in the Gulf region as it enforces its naval blockade of Iranian ports. CENTCOM also stated that over 50 humanitarian aid vessels have been permitted passage through the blockade. This action follows earlier U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran and Tehran's restriction of passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
