Taiwan tracks 14 Chinese military aircraft, 14 ships

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense reported tracking 14 Chinese military aircraft and 14 naval vessels around the island on October 20, 2026. Eight of the People's Liberation Army aircraft sorties crossed the Taiwan Strait median line. Taiwan deployed its own aircraft, naval vessels, and missile systems in response. This activity is described as a continuation of China's 'gray zone tactics' and 'highly destabilizing' by a US congressional committee official.
