Iran's IRGC Claims Mines Halted Two Tankers, Downed US Drone in Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that naval mines planted in an 'illegal crossing point' in the southern Strait of Hormuz set ablaze and halted two oil tankers. The IRGC also stated its air defense forces downed a US MQ-9 drone over the strait the previous night. This represents a significant escalation in maritime security and strategic deterrence in a critical global waterway.
