Iran Claims Three Oil Tankers Hit Naval Mines in Strait of Hormuz, Catch Fire

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that three oil tankers exploded and caught fire after striking naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC stated the incidents occurred over the past 24 hours as the vessels attempted to transit an 'unauthorized southern route' and had switched off their radar and navigation systems. A British navy maritime agency also reported a ship on fire in the strait.
