Octopuses Exhibit Mirror-Use Capability for Finding Hidden Food

A new study from Dartmouth College reveals that octopuses can utilize mirrors to find food that is not directly visible to them. This advanced spatial reasoning ability was previously thought to be exclusive to certain vertebrates, such as mammals and birds. The findings suggest a higher level of intelligence in octopuses than previously understood, with successful food location in a significant percentage of trials.
