New Detection Method Enhances Photon-Photon Scattering Experiments

An experimental physics preprint introduces a novel balanced homodyne measurement scheme. This method significantly improves signal-to-noise ratios in all-optical photon-photon scattering experiments by reducing background noise by several orders of magnitude. This advancement, combined with two-dimensional detectors, promises to enhance the sensitivity of future experiments in the field.
