Novel Statistical Method Uncovers Brain Communication Patterns

Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have introduced pCCA-FA, a new statistical approach for analyzing neural recordings across multiple brain areas simultaneously. This method can differentiate interactions between brain regions from those within a single area, revealing previously unseen aspects of brain function. Applying it to the prefrontal cortex, the team observed shared activity linked to arousal, offering new insights into neurological disorders.
