ESA Launches "Skills Digital Twin Initiative" to Address European Space Sector Talent Gaps

The European Space Agency (ESA) has unveiled its "ESA Skills Digital Twin Initiative," a project designed to map current and future skill requirements within the European space ecosystem. Developed in partnership with the European House Ambrosetti Group, the initiative uses analytical research, stakeholder engagement, AI, and web scraping to create a "Digital Twin" of the sector's talent demand and identify critical gaps. The findings, compiled in a White Paper, were presented at an executive roundtable in April 2026, aiming to foster dialogue and collaboration on future skills.
