Ancient Giant Crocodile Species Discovered in Ethiopia

Scientists have identified a previously unknown species of giant crocodile, named Crocodylus lucivenator, which inhabited Ethiopia more than three million years ago. This formidable ancient predator is believed to have lived alongside and potentially preyed upon early human ancestors, including the well-known hominin fossil 'Lucy.' The discovery provides new insights into the prehistoric ecosystem of the region.
