NASA utilizes machine learning to enhance flash flood forecasts
NASA has announced a new system, called TACLS, that integrates machine learning with satellite data to provide meteorologists with faster and more accurate flash flood warnings. The system operates in near real-time, delivering forecasts within approximately 15 minutes, and is a collaboration between NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, UC San Diego, and NOAA's National Weather Service.
