NASA Deploys Machine Learning for Enhanced Flash Flood Predictions

NASA has introduced TACLS, a new machine learning system designed to significantly boost the speed and accuracy of flash flood warnings. Developed with JPL, UC San Diego, and NOAA, it integrates satellite data with advanced algorithms. During simulations from 2017-2023, TACLS successfully identified 93% of flash-flood warnings.
