Researchers led by Northeastern University have developed an approach to identify existing drugs that could be repurposed to influence aging processes, with findings published in Nature Aging. Their methodology, which examines aging-related genes and hallmarks, identified 370 potential drug candidates, including oxymetazoline, an over-the-counter nasal spray, for further investigation into its effects on cell-cell communication.
