NASA Awards Nearly $600 Million in Contracts for Four New Moon Missions to Private Companies
NASA has selected three private companies – Astrobotic, Firefly Aerospace, and Intuitive Machines – to carry out four new missions to the Moon by the end of 2028. These missions are part of the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program and aim to deliver science payloads to the lunar surface, supporting the development of NASA's first permanent Moon Base. The contracts are valued at nearly US$600 million, accelerating efforts to establish a long-term human presence on the lunar surface.
