James Webb Space Telescope finds evidence of thick water-ice clouds on exoplanet Epsilon Indi Ab

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has detected evidence of thick water-ice clouds high in the atmosphere of Epsilon Indi Ab, a Jupiter-like exoplanet located relatively close to Earth. This discovery highlights how current atmospheric models for giant planets may be incomplete, as many have not accounted for such cloud formations. The presence of water-ice clouds was inferred from missing atmospheric ammonia, suggesting that the ammonia is locked away within these cold clouds.
