Stem Cell Organoids Show Promise in Repairing Damaged Heart Vessels

Researchers at Stanford University have successfully used human stem cell-derived vascular organoids to repair microvessel networks in the hearts of pigs with ischaemic heart disease. This proof-of-concept study offers a potential new therapeutic strategy for coronary artery disease, a major cause of mortality. The miniature cell clusters demonstrate the ability to regenerate damaged vessels and improve heart function.
