NASA develops algorithm to assess blood clot risk in astronauts

NASA's Office of the Chief Health and Medical Officer is establishing a working group to create an algorithm for evaluating the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in astronauts. This effort involves reviewing updated VTE case information and new data on altered blood flow during spaceflight. The initiative aims to provide evidence-based clinical practice recommendations to mitigate VTE risk for space travelers.
