JWST May Underestimate Water on Sub-Neptune Exoplanets

A new study suggests that many warm sub-Neptune exoplanets could possess substantially more water than current James Webb Space Telescope observations indicate. This discrepancy might stem from a hydrogen-water separation, where the visible atmosphere represents only the upper, less water-rich layer. Consequently, the deeper regions of these planets could harbor significantly greater water reserves.
