WMO Promotes AI-Enhanced Probabilistic Tropical Cyclone Forecasts

The World Meteorological Organization is encouraging weather services to adopt probabilistic tropical cyclone forecasting, utilizing AI-based models and post-processing techniques. This initiative aims to significantly improve early warning systems and disaster preparedness worldwide. The Hong Kong Observatory has already demonstrated success in reducing forecast errors through these advanced methods.
