New Catalyst Developed to Remove Perchlorate from Drinking Water

Researchers at UC Riverside have developed a highly effective catalyst, composed of ruthenium nanoparticles, for breaking down perchlorate. This industrial pollutant is harmful and often found in drinking water. The discovery could significantly improve water treatment processes, reduce hazardous waste, and allow for the reuse of treatment materials.
