This discovery, detailed in Nature Astronomy, suggests that essential biomolecules like sugars, which are crucial components of DNA and RNA, may form in cosmic dust and gas clouds. The finding supports the hypothesis that ingredients for life could be produced in space and delivered to primitive Earth via meteorites and comets. The detection was made using the Yebes 40m and IRAM 30m telescopes in Spain.
