Researchers Propose Novel Method for Dark Matter Detection

A new indirect technique has been put forward for identifying dark matter annihilation, particularly within dwarf galaxies. This method suggests observing Hα line emission from neutral hydrogen gas, which would be ionized by high-energy photons released during dark matter annihilation. The study, published as a preprint and accepted by Physical Review Letters, anticipates that future observatories like the Vera C. Rubin Observatory and the ELT will enhance detection capabilities.
