Juno Spacecraft Detects Higher Subsurface Temperatures on Jupiter's Moon Io

NASA's Juno spacecraft, during recent flybys of Jupiter's moon Io, detected subsurface temperatures exceeding previous model predictions. Despite Io's intense volcanic activity, Juno also observed surprisingly smooth surface areas. These new measurements are crucial for refining scientific models that describe how internal heat is distributed and escapes through Io's crust.
