Astronomers Confirm Companion Star Orbiting Betelgeuse

Using the European Southern Observatory's VLT, astronomers have captured the clearest image of Betelgeuse B, a companion star orbiting the red supergiant Betelgeuse. This discovery, confirming a century-long suspicion, reveals Betelgeuse B to be more massive than previously estimated, at two to three times the Sun's mass.
