Study Indicates Archaic Human Infants Shared Helplessness with Modern Babies

Research led by Professor Yousuke Kaifu at the University of Tokyo suggests archaic human infants, like Homo erectus and Homo floresiensis, were as helpless as modern newborns. Analyzing cranial shapes, the study indicates that the phase of dependent infants and associated parental care responsibilities dates back hundreds of thousands of years, offering insights into human evolution and social development.
