Newly Identified Fossil Reveals Ancient Crocodile Relative in Triassic New Mexico

Paleontologists from Yale University have identified a new crocodile relative, *Eosphorosuchus lacrimosa*, from a fossil previously unexamined for nearly 80 years. This jackal-sized predator, which lived 210 million years ago in New Mexico, possessed a reinforced skull and powerful jaws, adapted for hunting larger prey. The discovery provides valuable insights into the biodiversity and ecological dynamics of Triassic ecosystems.
