Novel Metallic Alloy Identified in Hiroshima Atomic Bombing Fallout

Researchers from Università degli Studi di Firenze identified a novel silicon-rich crystalline alloy, 'hiroshimites,' within microscopic spherules found in Hiroshima Bay beach sands. This unique metallic compound formed under the extreme temperature and pressure conditions of the 1945 atomic bombing, providing new insights into how high-energy events can create previously unknown forms of matter.
