New Open-Source Software Predicts Energy Transfer in Material Defects

Researchers from Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Chicago have developed PyRET, an open-source software. This tool predicts energy transfer between microscopic defects in solid materials. It is expected to aid in designing optical memory, studying quantum information loss, and enhancing material understanding.
