Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) first data release reveals thousands of dual and offset active galactic nuclei

A systematic census using spectroscopic data from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument's (DESI) first data release has identified over 7,000 dual active galactic nuclei (AGN) and 27,000 galaxy pairs containing one AGN. This significantly expands the known sample of dual AGNs, particularly at higher redshifts. (Preliminary finding, not yet peer reviewed)
