NSF Invests $50 Million in Two New Materials Innovation Platforms

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) is allocating $50 million to establish two new Materials Innovation Platforms (MIPs). These high-tech user facilities will provide national access to advanced tools and laboratories for discovering and developing materials capable of withstanding extreme conditions, including lightweight composites for armor and superalloys for fusion energy reactors.
