New AI Tool Developed to Enhance Management of Modern Power Grids

Researchers at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and Florida State University's Center for Advanced Power Systems have created a new artificial intelligence tool, named GridFusionX, designed to improve the reliability and reduce operating costs of electric grids. The system enhances forecasts of electricity demand and renewable energy generation by treating the power grid as a connected network. This approach provides grid operators with more accurate information to balance supply and demand, addressing challenges posed by the increasing integration of renewable energy sources. The research was published in IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering.
