KU-Fermilab Team Awarded Grant to Build Next-Generation Detectors for CERN's Large Hadron Collider

A team from the University of Kansas and Fermilab has received a new Department of Energy award to develop next-generation particle detectors for the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). These calorimeters will be integrated into CMS before the High-Luminosity LHC era, slated for mid-2030, enhancing the collider's capability to capture novel data.
