Inouye Solar Telescope Confirms Kelvin-Helmholtz Instability on Sun

High-resolution images from the Inouye Solar Telescope have confirmed the presence of Kelvin-Helmholtz instability (KHI) on the Sun's surface. This observation provides the first direct evidence of the long-hypothesized phenomenon, which creates waves and swirls.
