New Sharpest Image of the Sun Uncovers Kelvin-Helmholtz Instability

The Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope has captured the highest-resolution image yet of the Sun in visible light, revealing instabilities in the form of Kelvin-Helmholtz instability (KHI). These swirling patterns, long hypothesized to occur on the Sun's surface, were confirmed in dramatic high-resolution images.
