The study uncovered a previously unknown biological mechanism where sildenafil disrupts cancer cells' access to cholesterol, a crucial component for their migration and establishment in new tissues. The findings suggest that combining sildenafil with statins, which reduce cholesterol production, could be even more effective in restricting metastasis.
