NASA Extends Voyager 2 Mission Life Through Power Management Strategy
NASA engineers at JPL successfully implemented a "Big Bang" power-saving strategy for the Voyager 2 spacecraft, nearly 50 years old. By replacing power-hungry components with lower-energy alternatives while maintaining warmth, they have extended its operational lifespan. A similar procedure is planned for Voyager 1 soon.
